Social Insurance

Who is covered?Saudi treatment differs between Saudi and non-Saudi workers. Saudis are generally covered for annuities, SANED and occupational hazards; non-Saudis are generally covered for occupational hazards paid by the employer.
What wage is subject to contributions?The contributory wage is based on GOSI definitions and may include basic salary and regular allowances such as housing depending on the applicable definition.
Employee shareThe current simplified model uses Saudi existing-system employee share 9.75%; non-Saudi employee share 0%.
Employer shareThe simplified model uses Saudi employer share 11.75%; non-Saudi employer share 2% occupational hazards.
Maximum capGOSI caps and new-system transition rules should be checked; custom rates are available.
Difference between social insurance and end-of-serviceSocial insurance is a monthly contribution for pension/social protection, while end-of-service is an employment termination settlement and may apply to workers not covered by pension schemes.
